Mario Campos Castellano

Mario Campos Castellano, geboren 1982 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spanien, studierte zwischen 2000 und 2003 klassische und Computeranimation am Media Art Institut und an der ECIB in Barcelona und 2010 digitale Videopostproduktion an der CEV in Madrid.
Seit 2011 lebt er in Berlin und arbeitet in den Bereichen Animation, virtuelle Realität, Malerei, Bildhauerei und Experimentalfilm, wobei sich seine Arbeit ständig von der physischen in die digitale Welt verlagert. Seine Arbeit ist stark von Science Fiction und Posthumanismus beeinflusst und erforscht die Spannungen zwischen dem Technologischen und dem Menschlichen auf absurde Art und Weise.
Mario Campos Castellano arbeitet häufig unter dem Pseudonym Gomito, in Zusammenarbeit mit Liina Nilsson als Nemesis Air und als Teil des Kollektivs PSCTV. Er arbeitet auch häufig mit dem Kollektiv Aurora Sander, dem Künstler*innenkollektiv, Musik- und Modelabel Sameheads und den Künstler*innen Ellinor Aurora Aasgaard und Sol Calero zusammen.

Mario Campos Castellano, born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain in 1982. Majored in traditional and computer animation at Media Art Institut and ECIB, Barcelona, between 2000 and 2003, and digital video postproduction at CEV Madrid in 2010.
Based in Berlin since 2011, his work lives permanently transitioning from the physical to the digital realm, working in the fields of animation, virtual reality, painting, sculpture and experimental filmmaking. His work is heavily influenced by science fiction and posthumanism, exploring the tensions between the technological and the human in an absurdist way.
Mario Campos Castellano often works under the monicker Gomito, in collaboration with Liina Nilsson as Nemesis Air, and as part of the collective PSCTV. He is also a frequent collaborator of collective Aurora Sander, artist community and music/fashion label Sameheads and artists Ellinor Aurora Aasgaard and Sol Calero.
